My LinkedIn portfolio can be viewed online. This page provides an overview of my past and current experiences coming together as an electronic resume.
I have been learning, teaching and leading since I was a teenager, in non-academic settings. My resume shows that I have been planning and leading children and youth programs since May 2006 and involved in a significant number of other youth led organizations and groups who planned gatherings for children and youth. While a lot of this work has taken place through the Anglican Church of Canada I have recently started volunteering at the Kamloops Hospice as a Children’s Grief Group leader helping to provide a support a gathering space for children to explore and share their grief experiences. My work experience has primarily taken place at the Sorrento Centre Retreat and Conference Centre where I served in a few different roles, primarily as the Associate Director. Within this position I served twice at the Interim Executive Director. Each of my experiences at Sorrento Centre have given me experiences in planning and developing programs for all ages, training staff, communicating with course leaders and guests, and overseeing the implementation of the programs. My paid and volunteer work experiences have given me the opportunities to work with people from all over the world, of all ages, and from all different walks of life. I know how to listen, how to delegate, how to work as part of a team, and how to engage an audience in the midst of presentations.
Each of these experiences have formed me into becoming who I am today and will continue to influence my teaching philosophies, how I communicate, and how I welcome generously. These experiences have equipped me to be a strong leader who is described as caring and dedicated.
