Through the Bachelor of Education Program (Elementary) at Thompson Rivers University I have taken them following courses to date:

EDLL 3100 – Language and Literacy 1
EDMA 3100 – Mathematics 1
EDPE 3100 – Physical Education Methods

EDMA 3200 – Mathematics 2
EDSC 3200 – Science Methods
EDSO 3200 – Social Studies Methods
EDTL 3200 – Teaching and Learning 2

These courses have each inspired me to be the best teacher I can be. In the academic areas I had hesitancies about teaching I have found ways to equip myself to both learn and teach with confidence. I have explored important areas of teaching such as Inquiry Based and Place Based learning, two things I hope to incorporate into the classroom and my students learning. I have engaged in a significant amount of reflection on my personal education journey, my journey to becoming a teacher, and how my experiences have influenced the teacher I am to date. I have been taught and guided in learning how to make an effective lesson and unit plan and also have experienced that sometimes even the best laid out plans go their own direction but still can meet the needs of students. Flexibility, patience and relationship building are three things that I have taken away from each of the courses I have participated in.

Below are some of the assignments I have submitted within this program which I believe say something about who I am becoming as a teacher:
